Your whole fleet, one click from the menu bar.
Towertail shows CPU, memory, disk and network for each server that you own. It connects over SSH, finds hosts on your tailnet, and installs no agent. Setup takes approximately two minutes.
brew install --cask towertail/tap/towertailMade for small fleets and the people who run them.
Homelab boxes, the ten VMs of a startup, or client servers. You see all of them at a glance, without a web dashboard.
SSH only
Towertail copies a small sampler to ~/.towertail/ and runs it as your user. No root, no open port.
Finds your hosts
Towertail reads your tailnet and shows each machine. Select the hosts that you want to add.
Warn and critical
Set limits for each metric. A card turns amber or red, and macOS shows a notification.
Go back to a spike
Charts and the process list for the last 2 hours. Move back in time and see the cause of a spike.
Light on your Mac
A SwiftUI app in the menu bar only. A Windows tray app is in progress.
Read every line
The app and the server are AGPL-3.0. The sampler is Apache-2.0. The code is on GitHub.
Three steps to your first card.
Install the app, add a host, and set your limits.
- 1
Install
Use Homebrew, or download the zip.
brew install --cask towertail/tap/towertail
- 2
Add a host
Select it from your tailnet, or type user@host. The app uses your SSH key.
ubuntu@web-edge-1.tailnet.ts.net
- 3
Set thresholds
The defaults: CPU and memory warn at 75% and go critical at 90%. Change them for each host.
disk warn 85 crit 95
Alerts when your laptop sleeps.
The app watches your servers while your Mac is awake. Towertail Cloud will watch them all the time.
- Checks 24/7, with the same rules as the app
- Phone push, email, Slack, Discord and webhooks
- Longer history, and settings sync across devices
Run the server on your own machine.
The Towertail server is a Go service in a Docker container. It is AGPL-3.0, like the app.
